Mark L. Meinberg, CPA co-manages the firm. Mark was the managing partner of Feldman, Meinberg & Co. LLP for more than 20 years, and played a pivotal role in that firm’s success. Under his leadership Feldman, Meinberg & Company was named Best of Long Island by both Long Island Business News and Long Island Press.
Mark’s clients describe him as more than their accountant—he’s a business partner who brings a wealth of experience and skill to the table, as well as accounting expertise that help them grow their businesses. His independent perspective draws upon proven formulas for business success as well as its flip side, with an in-depth knowledge of insolvency, bankruptcy and reorganization. Mark has successfully represented clients into and out of Chapter 11 filings, and is often called upon to provide in-court testimony as a qualified expert witness in litigation and Bankruptcy Court proceedings. His purview also includes significant experience serving clients in the e-commerce, leisure and recreation industries, as well as with staffing firms and with real estate, including property management, cooperatives, condominiums and homeowners associations.
Recognized for his expertise and leadership, Mark was invited to Washington DC to meet with members of the Senate Finance Committee. He also was one of four panelists who discussed fraudulent behavior on the television program, “Exploring Critical Issues,” hosted by Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott, and was a guest on the radio show, “Around the Market in 30 Minutes” for a discussion on helping clients position their portfolio under current tax law.
Mark’s professional activities are longstanding and varied. He presently represents the New York State NYSSCPA in a Council position for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The 265-member Council is the governing body of the accounting profession in the United States.
He is the immediate Past President of the Nassau Chapter of NYSSCPA, completing his service in May 2011. The Nassau Chapter represents more than 5,000 members with continuing education programs, career development, community service activities and networking opportunities. Mark also served on its Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and formerly served as its President Elect, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as Chairman of the chapter’s Management of an Accounting Practice Committee.
Mark also has a long history of activity on the state level of NYSSCPA, serving as Vice President and member of the Executive Committee, as well as on its Board of Directors, Governance Subcommittee and Large and Medium Sized Firms Practice Management Committee.
A frequent lecturer, Mark has been a guest speaker for professional, educational, and business organizations, including Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), National Conference of CPA Practitioners and the NYSSCPA COAP program, which introduces high school students to the accounting profession.
Currently Mark is First Vice President of the Board of Governors of the Accountants Club of America and is a member of the Business Advisory Board of Sterling National Bank in New York City. He is also the founder and Chairman of the Regional Small-Size Managing Partners Forum.
He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Long Island Chapter of the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants). The IMA is dedicated to empowering management accounting and finance professionals to drive business performance through its Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) program, proactive professional research and practice development education, networking, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and professional practices.
Mark is a graduate of Baruch College of the City University of New York. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand and was later an audit manager at Arthur Young & Company prior to joining Feldman, Meinberg & Co. as a partner in 1985.
